But how can you fish skein if you don't snell, and use the loop? Best thing for early mudsharks!
I got light weight compression pants for salmon season. Way to hot in salmon but I like my waders not to rub my skin. These will be great as wader pants, I'll throw shorts over them and then put the waders on.
So the Portarod arrived earlier this week. My back has been jacked up for 2 weeks, but finally felt good enough to set it up.
Pretty easy to do. It's really nothing more than a full aluminum cargo bar - and you can see I already have one of those. Albeit the portrait is lighter, and actually a bit more sturdy feeling. (Made is USA).
Overall, I'm not that impressed with it, to be honest. There's certainly nothing fancy about it. To the contrary, the aluminum is dull looking versus say stainless steel.
It's feels pretty secure. I don't think it will go anywhere, but I could see it twisting/rotating where the ratchet parts meet up if I had some heavier reels in there.
I do like how long the individual rod holders are. Some of my custom rods (rod to the right in the picture) have long butt sections, so the longer holder supports it well.
For the price it's not bad. I've purchased multiple rod holders for my buddy's boat, and the good ones ain't cheap. Even used they run a bundle.
Evan Williams, first booze in weeks.
Being out of work for a month price point was the deciding factor.
Well done, and deserved, twobob.
Is that STS car next to the truck?? He visiting or renting?
They look mighty nice . Is that an amphibious vehicle where you use for trolling ?
My question would be what purpose do they serve in that state ? I have seen salt beach rigs on the front , first time seeing in the bed though. Maybe looking out the back window?
If you ever decide to liquidate in the future, I'm sure they would make nice launchers off my boat , especially since a USA product
No STS. I Also drive a Subaru. It's my dog car since she goes everywhere with me. Runs great, but it's a beater. Dog hates being in the truck
I had no interest in putting a rod holder on the front of the truck. Too much debris that could potentially hit it, especially driving down the highway. I'll see how it goes with this rack in the bed. I did find other, but they were super expensive.
So your THAT guy in the blue drift boat! Like the tent over it for many reasons.
Nice yard! Maybe give A-5 some tips?
You planning to drive on highways with rods like that?
Can see dirt, grim and dust on reels. Worse if raining or Winter.
Didn't know they sold them in Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Large.
did you have to go to the Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Ex. ex. Large store to buy them for fat people?
Fixed that for ya.
Hey I look at it this way. I'm short for my weight. If I was 7' I would look skinny.
The canopy over the boat makes it so much easier, especially in bad weather. Or after a day in the rain, can leave it there to air out.
I do plan on driving on the highway with the rods in the holder, although i would not put our typical noodle rods there. Too tall and too flimsy. I could see a tip breaking if it got hit by a fly.
Im not too worries about grit or grime in the reels. It's pretty well protected back there, and my bed cover locks into place, regardless of how many panels are opened up on it. I could actually have the reels perfectly dry if it's raining and I'm driving.
Snow a different story. That'll build up weight on the rods, and could see it being a problem.
This was bought most for my one piece rods that are 6 to 8 feet. All fly and steelhead gear gets broken down and tucked safely away.
Write SNAKE on the bote so I can be sure its you I'm throwing rocks at as you spin passed me out of control!
2bob. Snake not necessarily needed. The blue boat with guy rowing with the raven matrix spinning in circles in Ellis cove. With a large guy sitting in the front eating hot dogs.
I think I've seen that boat before ... next time I'll just yell "Klitschko" for confirmation
Masshole is svelte!
