Lake Ontario Pulaski/Oswego Fishing Reports
Reports I've seen and heard say Lake has been on fire from the Bar to Oswego, and in the last week has lit up north to Henderson. Lots of low to mid twenties kings, they are not finding enough large alewife to satisfy them, and they don't really like the 1 year olds that are out there in good numbers from last year's hatch, so the trolled baits look good to them. Smaller Salmon and trout have been loaded with the one year olds, but are still on the feed. Just have to hope the boats leave some to run in the fall!
Are you on crack leave some for the run this year if that were the case every year would be an off year
Never did crack. Things have been off the lasts few years, maybe u're crystal ball is better!
There have been worries over getting enough Salmon eggs for the Hatchery for a couple of years, too, but wa do I know!
Really your very mistaken the only year I know of was 2007/2008
Might wanna look that up bro
Attended all the SOL meetings for years, they were concerned last year as well as 2007/08, they closed the LFZ again and looked at alternative locations until the rains came in October, and there was also concern about getting enough steelhead eggs this past spring (they made quotas but without usual "extra" margins, and there was bit of an internal debate going on until they hit quota about possible alternatives). They also had concerns in 2015, due to low water making it easier for the yawkers to selectively remove whatever hens were coming up, and I recall that they set up in the side channels down in DSR to get enough hens. They went to the Black in 2013 to make quota, and egg collections at Pulaski went on for approximately twice as long as usual. Then there was the "get the charter guys to lift hens at Oak Orchard for eggs" debacle, but that may have been 2007. Since you know where to look it up, why not just post your reference to your source of superior knowledge.
you clearly don't know stuff.
Now I have to adjust my white flat brimmed hat.
All of the above is in the annual reports of DEC fisheries, oh vermillion caveman of superior no-knowledge. But please show us your sources of superior knowledge, grand canyon maw.
I still say that you don't know what you are talking about. BRO
But you have nothing or provide nothing with which to back your contention.
All of this is how I understand it as well. Last year was very questionable until that rain hit and brought in the fish. 2012 was another year they were concerned, more due to low water than low returns.
