A friend of mine went out to the FWMA out past Sodus, said he needed hip boots to get through places that are usually dry ground, he thinks all the Gobblers headed inland for high ground. It is wet again today, and forecast to be every day for the next 10. This will not be good for nesting success, either.

Really? There are like 30 of them around my house at given time. The one that is pecking on the window can only be identified when he is actually making the noise and shiting all over my house

Put a mouse sticky pad on the window sill. He gets all tangled up then stomp on his head.

A robin used to peck at my kitchen sliding glass door relentlessly. My guess is that it was either trying
to fight or make love to its reflection. I thought it was amusing until it started dumping piles of crap on the porch.
Remedy was to tape a piece of cardboard over the glass for a couple of weeks.

Yeah....I tried that. He went to another window and sliding glass doors. It sucks because I have like 10 windows and 2 big sliding glass doors they peck at and wake me up every day at 5:30. I have seen fishing line strung loosely to break up the reflection. Not sure if that will work.

Lol. I may do that. Even my girlfriend who worries about a fish hook hurting a fish wants to kill this bastard!

Got a bird on the 7th just 40 min into my first hunt of the season. Pulled up to the property at 5:10 and I had a bird gobbling maybe 60 yards away. I quietly snuck to my blind the opposite way of the gobbler. He gobbled every 15 to 30 seconds for 40 min until he flew down. Around 5:25 i made a few tree yelps and that just pissed off the hen that was roosted right by me. Well after he flew down he didnt gobble for about 10 min, but he did respond to my yelps. After a few calls it was obvious he was getting closer and at one point it sounded like he was right next to the blind. It was at this point I looked over and saw a hen about 30 yards away walking parallel to me. I figured he must be following her and when i looked behind her I saw him running towards her. At 25 yards he stopped in the most perfect spot and strutted for a second. Once he stopped strutting I took my shot and he didn't even twitch. My best bird with a 10.5 in beard and 1.33" hooks.

Not judging, and I'm sure I will take some flack for this but the action on that gauge should be open and pointed in a different direction.

Amazing bird! I've never been able to drop a turkey when I was actually turkey hunting. I've gotten a couple with the bow during early archery for deer but outside of that the damn birds always win!

Normally Id have the action open, but It was raining at the time so I took all the shells out and closed the action so no rain would get in. Its also pointed to my side so even if it did fire It wouldn't have harmed me.

They are tough buggers. I used to have horrible luck with them, but i figured out a way of hunting that worked for me and its been paying off ever since.
