I've used diamond braid for some of those tails. I've found that a quick hit from the Bic lighter will stop the ends of the braid from unraveling.

HD takes a quick hit from the Bic lighter and the Zzzzzz's start rolling.

Why the flashy colors on caddis? Never seen a flashy caddis before.
Top 2 spinners get my vote! Nice!

No reason in particular, just messing around. I saw a video of an X-caddis but they use Z-lon (or recommended antron) but I had neither so I just went with it.

Thanks, I like the spinners too. Believe it or not, it's just thread and a single puff of UP DN TROUT wing material.

Don't listen to RJ. The first guy to make a sucker spawn was made fun of also.

I don't know, it seems kinda stiff for poly yarn but you would know better than I .... the stuff works, it's cheap, and easy to use.

Looks just like the stuff I got from Orvis about 30 years ago, and am still using.

I like the variations. I have found in my short time on the river that sometimes work better than the old standby's. these steel have seen a ton of the same stuff, sometimes it provokes a bite out of curiosity.

When I run into steelhead sipping size 22 trico spinners, or even size 14 rusty's, I will know that I have died and gone to heaven!

I think those gay rainbow colored tails on da caddis are one of LS's patterns ;)

Need some honest critiques ... some pointers to make it better would be appreciated... be brutally honest, I'm asking for it

Stop biting your nails, can cause blindness. Nice tie! The reflective qualities make it alive and will get the Steelheads attention.

While I am no fly tier, I have always had much better luck with any nymph pattern that incorporated a bead versus without. Just a thought. it does look pretty good and I'm sure a steelhead would grab it.

The fly looks good, i like a thicker thorax but thats for me not the fish.

This is fancy but, get some clear glass beads, use one for each segment of the thorax and dub around them.

I am a big fan of glass beads, clear has out preformed all other colors for me. It always matches the materials you use.
